Well, Castro stepped down today. This was the reason that I spent the money to go over the summer -- I now have the ability to say that I was one of the last Americans to visit Cuba during the Castro regime. How's that for pretty damned cool?
I'm not really sure if anything will change, though. Maybe it will, maybe not. We'll just have to wait and see ...?

I like old people
I should say, more correctly, that I love old people who just don't give a damn anymore.
Anyway, ciao.

Imagine a rant
People are stupid -- they make stupid decisions, deciding to get together with their ex, who happens to be three years younger and still in high school. They shun you because you aren't tall, skinny and Latino, despite being a pretty damned good match.
Or they're perfect for you, you love each other and they just ... can't get it together. No matter what.
People are fools.
Thank God this holiday is over.

Lethargy
I'm lacking the motivation to do much of anything right now. Part of me says that it stems from a lack of assignments this week, which means that my "system" (as I refer to my whole being) is running on idle in expectation of long periods of engagement.
The other theory winning votes in my psyche is that there exists an inverse proportion between my energy/happiness and the chronological proximity to Valentine's Day.
Anyway, the things I will be doing soon:
1) Loading photos of women's rugby team.
2) Finishing up the design for Laura Ford's Web site.
3) Reworking the photo galleries on my site.
4) Going for more photos of the Habitat for Humanity house.
5) Finally get around to another short slide show on either Alicja or Drew and Liz.
6) Die from loneliness.
... okay, so one argument might have a little more validity than the other.

Mwuhahahaha
I feel ... successful. I was trying to figure out how to make GoLive update my site despite the fact that it was made with Dreamweaver. Also, I was unsure as to whether or not the server would connect from here. But it did. Eeeexcellent. Now I can sleep in a little tomorrow morning. Very nice.
By the way, if I haven't dropped a line to my site, here you go: Jake Ford Daniels.
Currently under construction.

Some random photography stuff
To begin with, an article from Wired about high speed photography, in five parts. Short parts. Like, a photo and a paragraph short.
Next, two movies with photographers or photography as a basis of the plot: Shutter, and The Midnight Meat Train, which is based on a short story by Clive Barker. I don't find Barker particularly scary -- he's more akin to the gory-ful horror stories of Stephen King. Honestly, if you want really chilly, freaky, well-written horror, I'd suggest H.P. Lovecraft. He's a much better writer, and he's even got the cool name.

Flash stuff
This is coool.
A click-less interface, isn't that nifty? They've got some good ideas, and reasonable ways to carry them out. My admiration.

To all the women who might happen to read this blog ...
FYI, y'all ...
High heels do indeed improve your sex life. Beyond just looking hot.
And a photo.

Vuvox, again
Another one.
Hoping to get into the Beta for the collage tool. I've got some nice ideas for it. Cuba stuff.
Anyway.
